Privacy Policy

Introduction
Paintballevents.net is a solo project — I'm Darin, and I run it. I've tried to keep this site's data practices simple, and this page explains them plainly: what's collected, by whom, and what I can and can't see.
Information We Collect
Event Submissions
When you submit an event, the form saves details about the event itself — its name, field, dates, and similar facts — to this site's database. The event form does not ask for your name or email, so event submissions are not tied to your identity.
Automatically Collected Information
Like most websites, standard technical information (such as browser type and general device details) is processed when you visit. I don't run my own separate visitor-tracking logs beyond the analytics described below.
PostHog Analytics
I use PostHog to understand how the site is used — things like which pages are visited and how long sessions last — in aggregate, and unless you've opted out, it also records your session — a playback of how your visit moved through the site, such as mouse movement, clicks, and scrolling. Password fields are masked in those recordings so what you type there isn't captured. You can opt out at any time (see "Your Choices" below). For details, see PostHog's Privacy Policy (opens in new tab).
Cookies
Cookies are small data files stored on your device. This site uses them for basic functionality, such as keeping track of your session, and for the analytics described above. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some things may not work as well.
If You Email Me
If you email an address at this domain, that message is forwarded to my personal inbox, where I can see your email address and whatever you write. I keep those messages the way anyone keeps their email. I use them only to reply to you and to run the site — I don't sell them or add them to any marketing list.
How I Use Your Information
- To run and improve the site.
- To process and publish event submissions.
- To understand site usage in aggregate through PostHog.
- To reply to you if you contact me.
Information Sharing
I don't sell, trade, or rent your information. The only third parties involved are the tools that make the site work — PostHog for analytics, Google for the contact form, and my email provider — each handling only what's needed for its purpose, under its own privacy policy.
Third-Party Links
This site links to third-party sites, such as event pages, field websites, and external forms. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and I'm not responsible for their content or practices.
Your Choices
You can disable cookies in your browser, and you can opt out of PostHog analytics by enabling "Do Not Track" in your browser or using PostHog's opt-out mechanisms. Because event submissions aren't tied to your identity, there usually isn't personal data of yours for me to look up — but if you've emailed me and want that correspondence deleted, or you have any question about data on this site, contact me through the contact form and I'll sort it out.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
I may update this policy from time to time. When I do, I'll change the "last updated" date at the top. It's worth glancing at now and then if you care about this sort of thing.
